LEARNING DESIGNER, UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND GLOBAL CAMPUS

  • Manage the development of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral e-learning courses, performing the following tasks:
    ​- using ADDIE, rapid prototype development, and other instructional design methodologies
    - drawing from adult learning theory in design and development
    - employing Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and other principles of inclusive design
    - managing projects with timelines, trackers, and other infrastructure
    - collaborating with subject matter experts to map the course and its contents
    - brainstorming, writing, and revising content
    - prototyping and storyboarding media and interactive elements
    - leading a team of editors, graphic artists, media producers, and others
    - making sure course materials represent the diversity of our student population
    - authoring in a content management system using a WYSIWYG editor
    - ensuring digital rights and Section 508 compliance  
    - building the course in an LMS (Brightspace, Canvas)

  • Keep up-to-date on instructional design research, technology, and best practices

  • Maintain Quality Matters certification to ensure quality course design

  • Present at conferences such as OLC Innovate 2019 (Scaling Program Design with a Program Roadmap, with co-presenter Trish Briere)
